Internship Opportunity in Event Marketing

RAFFL

with Garden Arts Company in Manchester

Now that the warm weather season is winding down, the Fresh Market is ready to re-launch its promotional and event marketing program.

This creates a terrific opportunity for someone in the area to get involved in a fun and enjoyable project; and to work their way into a possible long-term job at

a growing and dynamic company.

"We love to put on events and programs that appeal to our present and future customers. Whether it be Cooking Lessons, a Farmers Market, a Meet Your Farmer Food Sampling, or a Kids Event with a Petting Zoo, we like to do a lot. We already have plans for Hay Rides behind our restored 1952 Case farm tractor, a sweet Quail

and Pheasant Cooking Demo with Cavendish Farms, and a tie in with the Elf Train event in December.

We use the interior of the Market for small events, and we have a 900 square foot open space in our Annex which makes for a neat classroom or small exhibit hall. Manchester 2020 discussion groups used the space all summer in between our landscapers mid-week usage of the space for tool and vehicle storage.

This year, we hope to use our big parking lot on the West side of the Market near Zoey's for outdoor events.

There is so much that we can do with the right highly energetic and creative person managing our program. The Fresh Market is making great strides in providing healthful, natural, organic, and locally grown foods to all of our community. Our mission is to provide good Farmer's Market food to all people all the time, and to provide our area's farmers and food producers with a seven day a week and year round indoor market for them to earn income from our sale of their products.

We also like to have fun as we develop our team of great people who are glad to be a part of something as nurturing and community minded as our Market. We want to serve the same function in Manchester as various Food Coops do in the towns and cities where they exist."

If you are interested in this intern position; or of you know someone who might be able to do this work and gain knowledge from it, please pass the word. Steve Burzon, the owner of the Fresh Market has a world of experience in Event Marketing and it would be a joy to help teach someone how it all can work.

All interested parties should contact Steve at sburzon@vermontel.net or 802.233.1850.
