Hey Folks, Rural Vermont is doing a workshop series, starting in August and going into October focused on current and aspiring farmers interested in the production and sale of poultry and/or raw milk. The workshops are spread throughout the state, and I wanted to pass them all along, even though some may not be local to your area.

From Brooder to Plate: Pastured Poultry Opportunities Thursday August 26, 11 am - 3 pm Chandler Pond Farm, SOUTH WHEELOCK Rural Vermont hosts this on-farm workshop and invites current and aspiring poultry producers to see, share, and learn best practices for raising and selling poultry. Includes a slaughter demonstration – please wear work clothes.

From Cow to Customer: Producing Raw Milk for Direct Sale Sunday September 12, 11 am – 3 pm Lathe Farm, CRAFTSBURY Rural Vermont hosts this on-farm workshop and invites current and aspiring farmers to tour one of a growing number of farms who are operating a successful raw milk microdairy. See, share, and learn best practices for the production and direct sale of up to 50 quarts of raw milk per day.

From Cow to Customer: Expanding Raw Milk Production to Meet a Growing Demand Monday September 13, 11 am – 3 pm Family Cow Farmstand, HINESBURG Rural Vermont hosts this on-farm workshop and invites current and aspiring farmers to tour the first farm to be state certified as a Tier II raw milk producer. See, share, and learn best practices for the production and sale of raw milk in excess of 50 quarts per day.
