Workshop Description

Presenter: Mike Ghia, Land for Good

Are you a farmer or aspiring farmer interested in leasing, purchasing, or reclaiming farmland in the near future?

Join RAFFL, the Intervale Center, and the UVM Center for Sustainable Agriculture for a workshop focused on land access! We will begin by hearing from a panel of farmers and lenders who will share their tips and experiences related to finding and financing (or leasing) land.  We will then learn how to use the ANR Atlas to check soil types on potential parcels.

The second portion of the workshop will involve a thorough on-farm land assessment. By examining the soils, water systems, and infrastructure at Sunrise Farm, participants will leave with tools to use when evaluating potential farm properties.

The full workshop agenda can be found here

Snacks will be served compliments of the Upper Valley Food Coop & The Coop Food Stores.

RSVP to Jen Miller - jen@rutlandfarmandfood.org, 802-417-7096
