I just came across this story on the Splendid Table. It's about how the author, Amanda Theiroff, and her friend attempt to eat only a single (naturally) colored group of foods each day for a week. It seemed like more of a struggle than anything and not something I'd want to do. As one of the comments points out - you need a variety of colors, not just one, for a balanced diet. Which is what I'm hoping is being conveyed on the blog this year - that there are a ton of naturally colored, local foods available in Vermont and we should be intentional about incorporating all of them - but certainly not just one color alone - into our cooking and eating habits. But it's a quick, fun listen or read. Enjoy!
