While a blog like Everyday Chef is one great way to learn about local food, another good method is taking an actual farm tour. Maybe you've already joined us this summer on one of our many tours. But if not, we have one last tour for you this year - Yoder Farm in Danby, Vermont.
On the tour, taking place from 1-4pm on October 13th, you can find out all about cider pressing with wild apples and bean threshing. Didn't you ever wonder how apple cider was made or how beans are grown, dried and removed from their pods? These foods just don't appear on shelves or farm stands. There are special techniques on small farms that make these foods possible. And now is your chance to find out how.
Spend a beautiful fall afternoon outdoors. Register for the tour here. We can't wait to see you on the 13th!
