RAFFL Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Kristin Smith

The Rutland Area Farm and Food Link is celebrating its 10 year anniversary! Over the last decade, we’ve helped build a stronger farm and food system in the Rutland region. As we reflect on our past successes and challenges, we’re thinking about how we can expand our programs to involve and benefit even more community members.  From a redesigned logo and website to new community collaborations, 2015 promises to be an exciting year for RAFFL.

What’s new for 2015?

Signature Ad Builds Community Support. RAFFL recently launched a “signature ad” campaign to highlight community support for local farms and food. We’re asking supporters to “sign on” for a suggested donation of $10-50 per name.

Farm Fresh Connect Expands Access for Local Food. RAFFL coordinates an online farmers market to expand access of fresh, local food to work sites in the Rutland region. For 2015, we’ll use Farm2Plate’s consumer profiles to craft targeted outreach to attract new customers.

RAFFL Gleans Over 10 Tons of Produce.  In 2014, 170 volunteers donated 500+ hours to RAFFL’s gleaning program, harvesting over 10 tons of produce for food assistance providers. In 2015, RAFFL will partner with the Vermont Foodbank and its new Rutland facility to increase our impact.
