Last Call - Farmers' Gathering tonight!

Kristin Smith

TONIGHT is RAFFL's Farmers' Gathering! This year we're doing things a bit differently--a light dinner will be provided at 6pm BUT the bulk of the gathering will be used to discuss RAFFL's recent surveying work and what we have learned about the demand and supply of local food. We're using the gathering as a forum to gather feedback from the community as RAFFL continues to move the Rutland region's farm and food system forward. What: Farmers’ Gathering & Discussion When: Thursday, May 31st. Dinner starts at 6pm. Presentation at 6:30pm. Where: Chaffee Art Center at 16 South Main Street in Rutland (Google map) Directions/Parking: The Chaffee Art Center is located on Route 7 in Rutland Vermont across from the Main Street Park. Parking is in the rear of the building with an entrance from Route 7 and from Center Street.

BACKGROUND Over the last couple months we've been working with Karp Resources to better understand the needs of the Rutland region and how RAFFL can best fill the gaps in our farm and food system. Over 175 farmers, food-related businesses, and institutions took part in our extensive surveying. With their help, RAFFL has a much better idea of both the demand for and supply of local food in the greater Rutland region.

FARMERS GATHERING DETAILS On May 31st RAFFL is holding a dinner and discussion to talk about our survey findings and what they will mean for RAFFL’s future work. The event will be in the tradition of our annual Farmers’ Gathering. We’ll start with a light dinner, followed by the primary purpose for the event—a vibrant discussion about the survey results. Karen Karp and Emily Sandusky from Karp Resources will be at the event to explain their findings, answer questions, and gather feedback from the community. This is a great chance to let your voice be heard and help guide RAFFL’s work!

The event will be Thursday, May 31st at the Chaffee Art Center in Rutland. A light dinner starts at 6pm and the discussion will follow. Thanks to Pink Boot Farm for providing our dinner!
