The NAP program protects against losses (over 50%) by providing a partial payment on a per crop basis. In some cases, separate plantings of the same crop can be covered. The total cost is $250 per crop or a maximum of $750 per farm per county for three or more crops. The fees are waived for limited resource farmers. To learn more about NAP and other USDA farm programs and/or to sign up for the coming season, contact your county Farm Service Agency (FSA) office before the March 15 deadline.
