Farmer Mixer- THIS FRIDAY!

Join together with fellow farmers and friends for RAFFL's Annual New Farmer Mixer! This event is open to experienced, beginning and aspiring farmers, specialty food producers, and anyone else in ag-related business--come one, come all!

When: Friday March 9th, 6-8 pm Where: Cafe Terra, 67 Center Street, Rutland

Details: Potluck supper (bring something to share!), BYOB (beer or wine)

This event is FREE and Cafe Terra is providing free coffee and cookies!

Please come and join in exciting conversation with your fellow farmers. This is a time to share stories, ask questions, and make our farming community even stronger.

Land Access Panel & Financing workshop- March 28

RAFFL and Green Mountain College are collaborating to host a panel of service providers, farmers and land owners discussing Farmland Access. The panel includes Ben Waterman, coordinator of UVM's Center for Sustainable Agriculture Land Access Program, and will cover topics ranging from the challenges of leasing to tips for finding land to purchase.

After the panel, Ben Waterman will share key findings from the recently completed Guide to Financing the Community Supported Farm, a SARE funded project. This talk will explore unconventional financing arrangements and legal considerations involved.

This event is open to everyone but will be particularly useful for farmers who are looking for land or creative financing opportunities and land owners who are interested in leasing or selling to farmers.

Shiitake Mushroom Cultivation Workshop- April 10

SAVE THE DATE for this exciting hands-on workshop. Participants will learn about shiitake cultivation and actively inoculate logs with Maeve Mangine & Lucas Jackson of Tangled Roots Farm.
