Farmer to Farmer Conference, MA, Dec 9th

RAFFL

Fertile Ground - Connecting Farmers to Farmers to Promote Soil, Food and Community Health On Thursday, December 9th, The New Entry Sustainable Farming Project will host a Farmer-to-Farmer Conference in Sturbridge, MA.  The conference is designed for small-scale farmers who want to expand their farm businesses by learning from and networking with their peers.  The event is also open to anyone interested in learning from farmers about food systems and farming practices in the Northeast.  Speaker and panel topics were chosen based on surveys of small-scale Massachusetts farmers about the most important areas for farmer education; topics include soil fertility, farm business and financial planning, strategies for ensuring the health of livestock, and building sustainable communities around food.  In addition, there will also be a World Café forum that allows farmers to choose other topics on site for afternoon sessions.
