We are all getting outside, cleaning up our hedgerows and prepping fields. Make sure you keep an eye out for ticks! Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that features a skin rash, swollen joints and flu-like symptoms. You get the disease from the bite of an infected tick. In Vermont, the number of reported Lyme disease cases from exposure to ticks has nearly tripled in the past two years. An increase likely due to a rise in the number of infected ticks, and a heightened awareness about Lyme disease.
