The Taco

Everyone has had one at some point in their life, but have your ever enjoyed a really great homemade taco? I don’t mean something resembling a taco from a packaged box kit. That just doesn’t count. Sure, it seems the convenient route to go, but taste and freshness are compromised in the process, as is often the case with such food items. In fact, there is more to a taco than a box, ground beef and taco seasoning, as we will show you all this month while exploring everything from the tortilla to the very last topping. And as always, we will discuss  how to take advantage of that fresh, summer produce – whether it’s growing in your backyard or at a nearby farm.

Do you have a favorite kind of taco? A recipe for the perfect filling? Or thoughts on our theme of the month? We love to to hear from our readers. Leave us a comment and check back soon for a step by step guide to making your own corn tortilla at home.
