Join Yvonne Brunot, a local farmer and chef, for Introduction to Mediterranean Cooking, a method of food preparation that is recognized by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (health.gov) as "an eating plan that can help promote health and prevent disease".
You will learn about the characteristic flavors of a regional cuisine that emphasizes simple preparation, seasonal vegetables, lean meats and healthy fats, in this hands-on workshop in the kitchen at Grace Congregational Church in Rutland.
Pulling from the tradition of several countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Yvonne will take you through the preparation of a favorite dish, sharing tips, techniques and recipes for incorporating this flavorful and healthy diet into your everyday meals.
